Rice Distribution
During the Raining Season, when it is difficult for many families to provide food for their families, Looking Back Moving Forward provides bags of rice to families in need. Since its foundation, Looking Back Moving Forward has provided 500 families a bag of rice. Each bag of rice distributed is enough to feed a family of 5 for an entire month. Giving a family a bag of rice only costs $50.
Providing rice to families in need, allows families and children to not go to bed hungry. This allows children to succeed in school, parents to succeed at their jobs, and also gives families a sense of hope and security they did not have before. This security allows parents to not give their daughters off into early marriage, which is a common practice when families are struggling financially in Sierra Leone.
